Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to determine the errors that occur during the investment casting of multi-disc brake systems, especially during the cooling process, with various analysis methods and to improve their production. Root cause analysis was performed by evaluating the errors that occurred during the investment casting of the brake discs of the CASA aircraft. As a result of this evaluation, it was determined that cracks and shrinkage porosities were formed on the part, and these errors were caused by the inability to provide directional solidification. In order to make the solidification of brake discs after casting to be more thermally controlled, the cooling process was examined and different cluster models were developed. The studied cluster models were analyzed with the Nova Flow & Solid CV 4.3 analysis program using 8620 steel, which is the raw material of the brake disc. Then, the results obtained by casting according to the new cluster models developed were compared with each other.
