Abstract (EN)
The belief in fate, which has a long history that cannot be limited to a specific time, has always been a matter of curiosity. Although the language of revelation is the same in all Abrahamic religions, they put forward different opposing views as Cebriyye (Determinist) and Kaderiyye (Indeterminist) thoughts. Islamic sects, on the other hand, have three main tendencies by developing the theory of Cebriyye, Kaderiyye and the Sunni theory of kasb and partial option, which chooses a middle path between the two extremes. Using some demographic variables, patients and their relatives living in the Hakkari region were asked questions about five types of demographic structures in the field, in the context of fate, helplessness, uncontrollability, assessed value and submission. The questions developed on this axis were asked to 310 people in the field research. According to marital status, it was observed that married participants had a higher belief in fate than single participants. In the demographic structure of income level, it was observed that as the income level of the family increased, the scale score regarding belief in fate decreased. Considering the distribution of the participants according to where they live, a significant difference was observed between those living in city centers and villages. It has been observed that people living in rural-village environments have a higher belief in fate. When looking at the distribution according to reading times, it was seen that there was a significant difference in the participants' reading times of daily books, magazines and articles in all scales and sub-dimensions except the helplessness sub-dimension (p <.05).
