Abstract (EN)
The study was carried out with 160 risky pregnant women, 80 of whom were control and 80 experiments, in order to determine the effects of music on anxiety and sleep quality in risky pregnant women at bed rest in the hospital. In the randomized controlled study in the pretest-posttest order, the pregnant women who were taken to the experimental group were listened to the music in the Acemaşiran mode by the researcher for 40 minutes 2 times a day for 3 consecutive days, and the pregnant women in the control group were applied clinical routine. The data obtained were evaluated using SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Science) 22.0 for Windows package program. It was observed that the pregnant women in the experimental and control groups were similar in terms of age, educational status, occupation, economic status, number of pregnancies, number of births, number of abortions, number of living children, current week of gestation and length of hospital stay. The trait anxiety level of pregnant women in the experimental and control groups was similar, and the state anxiety score averages after listening to music decreased in favor of the experimental group (p˂0.05). After listening to music, the subjective sleep quality scores of the pregnant women in the experimental group decreased and their sleep quality increased significantly. The sleep latency scores of pregnant women in the experimental group decreased after listening to music and made it easier for them to go to sleep. After listening to music, the sleep duration, sleep efficiency, daytime functions and total PSQI scores of the pregnant women in the experimental group increased significantly, sleep disturbance and drug use decreased (p˂0.05). As a result of our study, it was determined that playing music in the Acemaşiran mode to the risky pregnant women who were at bed rest in the hospital decreased their anxiety levels and increased their sleep quality.
