Procurement of materials in hospitals and research the stock management: a field study in the public hospitals

The improving of societies is possible by the contribution of healthy individuals. That the individuals constituting society are healthy is possible with providing the healthcares by both the government and private sector effectively and efficiently. A service such as health rises on two principles; these are educated labour force and effective tools. The most important condition to fulfil effectively the duties of healthcare staff is to provide the quality materials to them as planned. In the health sector, non use the right materials at the right time leads to the irreparable damages, unlike the other sectors. On the other hand, the materials used in the health sector are a remarkable cost in the budget of the hospitals which are mostly public institutions. It is essential that both minimizing the cost and providing the materials to the health staff with the right planning and stocking at will. The purpose of your research, to explain the importance of material procurement and stock management in the health sector. The universe of your research is all public hospitals. However, due to the time and cost constraints, the findings about the public hospitals in the Bakırköy district of Istanbul province were evaluated. As a research method, qualitative research technique is preferred. Interview techniques were used as data collection tools. Keywords : Hospital, Material Management, Stock Management.
