Prof. Dr. Ahmet GÜZEL Jury: Prof. Dr. Aziz ERTUNÇ The purpose of the study is to determine the groundwater potential of Erzin- Yeşilkent plain with a hydrological model approach that is closes to the reality and find out the best groundwater management model. Changes in groundwater quality and the relationship of the origins of the water are investigated to pursue this purpose. As a result of this research, a management model that will provide the groundwater demand in an optimal level together with new areas for groundwater extraction by the pumping wells is determined for the irrigation cooperatives situated in the area. The replenishment of Burnaz spring which has the highest quality and potential in terms of drinkability domestic use-irrigation water, (especially during the dry-season) is provide to be from Ceyhan river with the help of geo-statistical, hydrological, water and isotope chemistry studies.
