Abstract (EN)
Turkish contemporary composer of Azerbaijani origin Hatıra Ahmedli Cafer draws attention with her works that blend Eastern and Western music with a contemporary language. In addition, she has a very important place in the piano repertoire with the pianistic writing style she uses in her piano works. This artwork includes a detailed formal and musical analysis of the piano piece titled Makam-Sonata composed by Hatıra Ahmedli Cafer in 2022. The data used in the thesis were obtained through bilateral interviews with the composer, performance of the work, listening to the recordings and detailed analysis of the score. The composer, who was inspired by Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov's "Shur Symphonic Mugham", composed her sonata in Shur mugham and also paid homage to Fikret Amirov with the opening theme of 'Shur Symphonic Mugham' in the coda part of the work. The work in question was composed in the form of a single movement Sonata Allegro and serves as a bridge between Eastern and Western music. In addition, the work was composed in accordance with the golden ratio and aims to achieve perfection both mathematically and artistically.
