Abstract (EN)

The air transport sector has rapidly developed in the world and our country in the last fifteen years. This case has caused an intensely competitive environment and has obliged the airline companies to increase their service quality in order to ensure their continuity and advantage against their competitors.The performance of the cockpit and cabin crews, who are seen as the reflection of the airline company in the eyes of the customers, is a significant issue for increasing the service quality. In this context, this study was carried out assuming that the cockpit and cabin crews` lower burnout levels and higher job satisfaction levels will enable the crews to provide a better service. To determine the relationship between them and to evaluate the results according to the demographic factors, the aim was to measure the burnout and job satisfaction levels of cockpit and cabin crews in this study.Maslach Burnout Inventory and Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire were utilized to collect data.The participants of this study are the cockpit and cabin crews in the airline companies based in Turkey.In this study, frequency and percentage analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, the test of normality, correlation analysis, independent samples t-test, ANOVA, and levene's test were conducted to analyze the data. As a result, it was concluded that the cockpit and cabin crews had moderate levels of burnout while they had higher levels of job satisfaction. A significant and negative relationship was found between general job satisfaction and general burnout. Likewise, significant relationships were found between the sub-dimensions of burnout and job satisfaction. Demographic factors were partially differentiated.
