Assesment of computerized cast making systems in ready-to-wear clothing companies according to user opinions

Today, when technology improves rapidly, ready-to-wear clothing sector should be aware of new developments and have these new technologies in its companies in order to keep its position and improve. Computerized cast making systems, one of these new advanced technologies, are now necessary in companies in ready-to-wear clothing industry, especially in medium and large sized enterprises.Considering this necessity, we tried to assess the computerized cast making systems in ready-to-wear clothing companies according to user opinions. In this respect, we gathered the information about computerized cast making systems and prepared a survey form which includes questions to notify the opinions of the user about the systems. The survey form has been applied on 90 ready-to-wear companies who use computerized cast making systems in Turkey and the data collected has been analyzed via SPSS 15.0 Statistics Software. The answers, regarding to computerized cast making systems have been shown in cross schemes. In this study, Cronbach Alfa (?) test statistics was performed fort the scale validity/reliability of variables. On the other hand, factor analysis was evaluated for problems which faced in computerized cast making systems and process utilization status of those systems.At the end section of the study, computerized cast making systems were assessed according to opinions of users, and those two systems were compared.Following outcomes were obtained as a result of this study:-It has been seen that, the companies which use Gerber System receive the training from Gerber Company; they perform the digit and pastal preparing processes mostly; they are not satisfied with digit and pastal preparing processes; they think the menus on digit table are too complicated.-It has been seen that the companies which use Lectra System receive the training from private courses; they perform the digit and parameter-standard file preparing processes mostly; they are satisfied with digit and serial preparing functions; they think the functions of internal inputs in digits and main cast preparing are too complicated.-As a comparison of those two systems, it has been seen that those systems are both adequate for cast making; the digit process is the most important process for both systems; the use of Gerber system is more difficult; the digit process is easier with Lectra system; the users of Lectra system is more satisfied with processes of the system.
