Effects of the citizens'on the local politics: 2004-2009 Localgovernments Example of Buca Municipality

In This research, the function of citizens' associations,the example of civil society estblishment, on the election of lical government politically and aat what extand they affect the elections of the local government and whether they affect the members in the election process are issued. for this reason, initially, the development of civil society in historical process is examined. Also, the informal structure of citizens' associations and the society establishments is mentioned. Furthermore, the interests of those immigrating from their hometown as politically and how they make their preferences while voting and the criterias of those while supporting a political party are the subject of this thesis.The fact that the political parties should take the control of the government and what political views they should have is emphasized in this study. Just as the aim of the political parties should socialize politically for the society so are the citizens' associations the inevitable groups that should be taken part in the process. Political parties apply several propagandas to take over the government or to be one of the partners or to influence the society.For this reason, in this thesis, we mention the propagandas that should be done to gain this purpose and we also mention how we should behave to the citizens' associations to gain their support.Our thesis consists of three parts. In the first part: after talking about the historical bacground of civil society we handle the process of civil society in Turkey. After the part where we talk about the civil society system in that era,we talk about the civil society establishments in Turkish Republic dividing the era into two parts as single-party era and multi -parties era.This study is explained by giving examples of civil society establishments in Turkey .In the second part; we talk about the associations as civil establishments,the historical development of associations in Turkey the Republic of the period before,the Republican period,the perod of 1961 constitutionand 1982 constitution and the citizens' associations which have been found as associations are examinad.In the third part; we declare the results of the survey we have done among some citizens' associations founded in Buca . We have analysed the results of the surveys and we have interpreted the results one by one and we explain them in our study.Key words: Civil Society , Citizens?
