The relationship between motivation and job satisfaction in nurses and teamwork

This study is a descriptive and relationship-seeking study conducted to determine the relationship between nurses' motivation and job satisfaction with teamwork. The sample of this study consisted of 288 nurses working in Konya Necmettin Erbakan University Meram Medical Faculty hospital. In the collection of data in the research; Socio-demographic Information Form, Nurses Motivation Scale (HIMO), Nurses Job Satisfaction Scale (HIDO), Teamwork Attitude Scale were used. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews with nurses who agreed to participate in the study. SPSS Statistics 22 program was used to evaluate the data. It was determined that 72.6% of the participants were women, 55.2% were between the ages of 18-29 and 63.9% were married. According to the results of the study, it was determined that the total mean score of the nurses participating in the study from the work motivation scale was 61.22 ± 8.89, the mean score of the job satisfaction scale was 3.37 ± 0.62, and the mean score from the teamwork attitude scale was 109 ± 15.33. . It has been found that the factors affecting job motivation and job satisfaction are working status, working type and working year. The way of working in shifts or during the day was determined as an effective factor on the level of team attitude, as in other scales. A positive and moderately significant relationship was found between job motivation level, job satisfaction level and teamwork attitude level. Nurses with high motivation and job satisfaction are needed in order to provide quality and safe patient care to patients in health care. For this reason, it is necessary to evaluate the opinions, suggestions and attitudes of nurses about motivation and teamwork, which are two important concepts in increasing efficiency and productivity, with valid-reliable measurement tools, and applications that will increase motivation should be included.
