The effect of nurses' perceptions of care behavior on their attitudes towards their caregiving roles

Özet (EN)

This research was conducted between 30 November-31 December 2021 to examine the effect of nurses' perceptions of care behavior on their attitudes towards their caregiving roles. The population of the study consisted of nurses (N=782) working in the inpatient clinics of Çukurova University Balcalı Hospital Health Practice and Research Center, and sample selection was not made. According to the sample size calculation, the minimum number of nurses to be included was determined as 258 and the study was completed with 336 nurses who agreed to participate in the research. "Personal Information Form", "Nurses' Attitudes towards Caregiving Roles" and "Caring Behaviors Scale-30" which were formed by the researcher, were used in the data collection. A package program called SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 24) was used in the statistical analysis of the data. It was determined that 58.6% of the nurses participating in the study were in the 22-29 age group, 83.6% were female, 55.7% were married, and 67.3% had a bachelor's degree. As a result of the study, it was determined that nurses' perceptions of care behavior affected their attitudes towards their caregiving roles, and as their perceptions of care behavior increased, their attitudes towards caregiving roles also changed positively.
