Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to determine the effects of stigma, anxiety and wise awareness levels of nurses on their professional lives according to their COVID-19 status. This research is a Descriptive-Comparison study. The study was carried out between 15/05/2021 – 30/08/2021 with 252 nurses who met the inclusion criteria of Bursa Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital Internal and Surgical Clinics. The data in the study were collected using a questionnaire consisting of Sociodemographic information, questions about COVID-19 and the COVID-19 Pandemic Impact on Professional Life Inventory (MYEE), and the Coranavirus Anxiety Scale (CAS), the Toronto Wise Awareness Scale (TBFÖ). The obtained data were evaluated using the Statistical Package for Social Science for Windows (SPSS) 23 program using percentile distributions, means, Mann-Whitney U test, chi-square test, t test, Anova test, correlation and linear regression analysis. The statistical significance limit was accepted as p<0,05. 77% of the nurses with COVID-19 who participated in the study and 66,2% of the nurses who did not have worked in the pandemic clinic / Intensive Care Unit (ICU). It was determined that 69% of the nurses who had COVID-19 and 61,2% of those who did not were exposed to discriminatory behavior. A negative and low-level significant correlation was found between age and the MYEE total scores of the nurses who had COVID-19 (p<0,05). A significant difference was found between the CAS total scores of the nurses who did not have COVID-19 and the unit they worked in (p<0,05). A negative and low-level significant correlation was found between the TBFÖ total score and the MYEE total scores of the nurses who did not have COVID-19 (p<0,05). A moderately significant positive correlation was found between the CAS total score and the MYEE total scores of the nurses who had COVID-19 (p<0,05). As a result, it was found that nurses experienced difficulties related to anxiety, stigma and pandemic during the COVID-19 pandemic process. This situation affected the professional lives of nurses.
