Abstract (EN)

The universe of this cross-sectional study consisted of students(367) of Istanbul Arel University, Department of Nursing and Department of Banking - Finance. The entire universe was included in the study. 302 students were reached. The questionnaire consists of 3 sections. The first part is the socio-demographic characteristics, the second part is the HLBS questions and the third part is the active aging questionnaire. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, minimum, and maximum were used to analyze the data. Parametric tests were used to analyze the data. The independent samples t test was used to compare the average of two independent groups, and the one-way analysis of variance test was used to compare the average of more than 2 independent groups. Tukey HSD and multiple group comparison tests were used for variance analysis. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used for reliability analysis of the subjects. Within the scope of the research, 63% of the students were female and 37% were male students with a mean age of 21.64 ± 1.90 (min: 18, max: 35). The overall average of the HLB score of nursing students was 132,66 ± 25,02 points, and the overall HLBS score of banking and finance students was 124,19 23,06 points. In the study, it is seen that the SYBD-II scale average score of Nursing Department students is significantly higher than the average score of Banking-Finance Department students. The reason for this can be said that the education of nursing students is effective. Among the behaviors that contribute to health promotion, the highest average score belongs to the spiritual development (spirituality) sub-dimension and the lowest average score belongs to the physical activity sub-dimension. In our study, the average score of health responsibility is (22.27 + 5.50), the average score of physical activity is (18.74 +5.34) and the stress management mean score is (19.75 + 4.56) which are sub-dimensions of the health lifestyle behavior belong to nursing students. It is seen that it is higher than the average score of banking-finance students. In our study, 48% of nursing students and 28% of banking-finance students stated that they know the concept of active aging.
