The effect of simulation model on nursing student to improve their obstetrical skills

This study was studied to evaluate nursing students' perceptions, opinions and proposal about the effect of the simulation model (highfidelity) on the development of their obstetric skills. The study was descriptivelyconducted on nursing students, grade 3th, of the US Ohio State University between May 1st-30th, 2014. In the study, it was detected that, of the students, 81.0% found simulation model significantly, 90.5% realized the importance of communication with pregnant women during labor, as well 90.5% became aware of the importance of communication with the team. Of this students, 90.5% stated that the session of debriefing contributeto the effective ness of interventions, 81.0% expressed that the simulation model reflectreal clinical environment during the practice, 95.2% reported that the generated environment made the learning easier considerablely. In addition, it was found that, of the students, 85.7% were pleased to practice with simulation model and 95.2% suggested this model for the development of obstetrical ability. According to the result sobtained from there search, the simulation has a positive influence on the students' learning experiences. Students was recorded to report this model was highly effective on self-efficacy, a deeplevel of learning, occupational skills, self-confidence, problem solving, communicationand team-work. It is recommended that the simulation practice, because of it scontribution, should be use and spread as a training method in nursing education.
