11 LOCALLY NILPOTENT GROUPS WITH ALL SUBGROUPS Sn OR ALL PROPER HOMOMORPfflC IMAGES N0 ( Ph. D. Thesis ) Selami ERCAN GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY JANUARY 2002 ABSTRACT In this thesis, we consider locally nilpotent groups with all subgroups 3Sn (n, depends on subgroups, ne N) or all proper homomorphic images No. In Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 we consider hypercentral or Baer groups with all proper subgroups HBn (n, depends on subgroups, ne N) and.locally nilpotent groups with all subgroups 3?n (n is fixed and independent on subgroups, ne N). In Chapter 5 we consider the groups with all proper subgroups are Sn (n, depends on subgroups, ne N) and each non-nilpotent subgroup has no maximal subgroup. In Chapter 6 we obtained certain same results for the groups whose all homomorphic images are No, which due to W. Möhres.
