Sculpture and urban aesthetics

Urban space is a tool which contains the social and cultural structures of a society. Urban space provides the cultural, economical, educational, social ...etc growth of human life without restricting the community life. These facts show that sculpture art has a place in urban space. Sculpture art makes room for itself in the urban area and also it enriches urban aesthetics for visuality. The artist, evaluates the urban place's advantages and disadvantages for create a new identity for urban place. By making the urban area a liveable place it also reflects the artist's existence in public places. İt also contributes to expand the borders to make people watch the art. In urban space, artist aims to create an enlargement to art boundaries by making people feel the existence of himself/herself and his/her art. In community life, art belongs to public without distinguishing the language, race and religion. Urban space constitutes the public space and by this; art get structured by urban aesthetics to make people meet the real art directly. By this direction of this aim; the owners of the sculptures in public space are the people that share the same public space. When we look at the city aesthetics through sculpture, the sculptures which are located in public spaces, are gradually improved by todays technology.
