Hierapolis Arkeoloji Müzesi'nin yönetimi ve ziyaretçi deneyimleri açısından değerlendirilmesi ve müzeyi geliştirme önerileri

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the current management of the Hierapolis Archaeology Museum, to assess the visitors? present experience at the museum and make recommendations for improving the visitor experience and museum management based upon museum theories. Several questions and observations about the management of the museum and visitor experience in the museum were formulated during my internship over the summer of 2007. In order to find answers to some of these questions and to compare these observations with that of the visitors, a visitor survey was conducted and tabulated. Suggestions to improve the Hierapolis Archaeology Museum, particularly in terms of the conservation and education aspects of a museum management have been made. Basic suggestions are given for the development of these two vital components of museum operations and it is hoped that the museum will benefit from these ideas. It is proposed that by conserving its collection properly and by better educating its visitors and immediate community, the museum can improve its service to both current and future visitors and while realizing the mission of the museum.
