Abstract (EN)

Mankind is divided into two species, male and female, and various issues about these two species have been wondered in every aspect since the beginning of human history. Throughout history, there are many studies dealing with the issue of women. In these studies, the status of women in the society they live in, their position in the family and their place in the religion they believe are the subject of discussion. There are many useful studies from different disciplines, especially related to the view of religions towards women. When the studies in the field of History of Religions are examined, it is seen that they mostly focus on the position of women according to Judaism, Christianity and Islam, which we know as Divine Religions. Studies on the view of women other than these religions are very few. In this context, the aim of our study is to bring the views of Hinduism and Buddhism, which have many followers in the world, on women to the literature. Within the scope of our study, firstly, general information about Hinduism and Buddhism was given and then we tried to discuss the position of women in religious texts, worship and family life. We used the historical phenomenological approach for comparison purposes in our research using the literature review method.
