Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT THE ULTRASONIC WAVE APPLICATION TO ALUMINIUM ALLOY CAST AND THE EFFECTS TO MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND MICRO STRUCTURE B.GürkanDÜZTEPE M. Sc. Thesis; Department of Mechanical Engineering Adviser : Prof. Dr. Narin ÜNAL May 2006, 104 Pages In this study, the micro structure and the mechanical behaviors such as hardness, strength and wear by the effects of the ultrasonic wave application to cast of hyper eutectic aluminium alloy Etial 195, generally used m caterpillar's shafts, sylinders, pistons, motor blocks and compressors, is observed. As a conclusion of the study, at a period of applying ultrasound there are some differences obtained in the microstructure, primer silicon grains become smaller and homogen in the eutectic. In mechanical structures, we have gained better results than the ones that ultrasound applications have not applied.
