Abstract (EN)
With the effect of increasing competition with globalization and the rapid change in social, economic and technological fields, today businesses need to be effective and efficient in order to continue their existence. For this reason, it has become important to increase the qualifications of human resources and ensure their commitment to the organization for businesses that move away from traditional understanding and turn to knowledge-based strategies. In-service training activities are one of the methods used by businesses to increase the qualifications of their existing human resources and to ensure their commitment to the organization. In businesses where in-service training is organized effectively, the belief of the employees that they can continue to stay in the business and gain is increasing due to the increase in investment made to them. Due to this positive perception it creates on employees, in-service training is one of the important factors affecting the organizational commitment levels of the employees. Thus, the relationship between in-service training and organizational commitment of white-collar employees working in thermal power plants is examined in the study. In accordance with this purpose, data were collected with a questionnaire from 369 white-collar workers working in thermal power plants in Zonguldak province. Research hypotheses were tested by regression analysis. Considering the results of the analyzes, it has been revealed that in-service training opportunities provided to employees are effective on all three types of commitment: emotional, attendance and normative commitment.
