Probation, is the backbone of punishment execution in the western countries, but it has recently been using in our country. Through this system, re-integration processes to the society is intended to be increased by giving responsibilities to the people, who were involved in crime. This study aims to investigate whether is it possible to re-integrate people into the society, who are seen as quilty and to reveal the role of education and rehabilitation in the probation process through a case study. The present study focused on data obtained from selected 75 informants from recorded convicts to the probation system of the Malatya Probation Centre between January 2014-2015. Total recorded eligible number of people was 803 in the system. Selection of sample was established by taking %10 of each different groups. In total of 75 questionnaires were applied to four groups: 49 informants were from SAMBA, 13 from Control of Anger (Öfke Kontrolü), 10 from HAYDE and 3 from ÇMP participants. Therefore, evaluation of the possibilities of the rehabilitation, regaining and education of the convict, defendant or suspect through the application of Probation system and its results have taken place in this study. The followings are necessary to reveal in this process: it is a necessity to evaluate the activity of education and rehabilitation in probation centre. It is a necessity to examine current applications in order to make probation system more functional for preventing people to committing crime again. Moreover, it is also necessity that to find out the system's deficiencies and hitches of application. Therefore, this study aims to reveal present situation in Malatya Probation Centre through a case study. Present study evaluates the topic through literature evaluation, recorded data and applied questionnaires to the convicts. The study includes three main chapters. The firstly introduction takes place. In the first chapter, a conceptual framework which describes what probation means, its applications and fundamental principles took place. The second chapter defines methodological process. The findings section which is revealing second chapter was divided five sub sections according to study aims. These sub section of the findings are related to socio-demographic findings, household and family, economical position and finally crime and probation process.
