Özet (EN)
This study will focus on the notion of "human nature" in the philosophy of Aristotle. Accordingly, this study aims at clarifying the different uses of certain concepts in Aristotle's philosophy. This clarification also includes discussing the primary meanings of these concepts and the analysis of certain misconstrue of them. This discussion and analysis will provide the comprehension of the primary meaning of concepts in terms of the philosophy of Aristotle. However, it is essential to examine certain concepts, such as "to on – beings", "ousia – that which is" and "physis – nature", that will help us to understand the notion of human nature in the writings of Aristotle. However, before delivering some statements about human nature, such as "this is human nature" and "human is an ousia", some concepts, such as nature, existence, and beings, must be taken into consideration. In other words, a comprehensive analysis of human nature depends on the explanation of the concepts mentioned above. Although it seems that these concepts are part of Aristotle's studies in Metaphysics, they are also incredibly significant in order to understand his approach to Ethics. After a general examination of certain essential concepts in Aristotle's philosophy, a general survey on his Ethics will be provided. The comprehension of human nature is the final point in his study of Ethics in which Aristotle questioned the condition of human from different perspectives such as virtue, environmental factors, the position of the human in society, and the duties of a human being. Nicomachean Ethics is the primary source for the analysis of human nature; besides, Physics and Metaphysics are also used for a deeper understanding.
