Investigation of the cultivation of jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) plant in subtropical conditions

This thesis study was carried out on Cultivated and Wild Jujube trees in the trial area of Çukurova University Faculty of Agriculture Department of Horticulture in the 2022-2023 period to investigate the suitability of the Jujube (Ziziphus Jujuba Mill.) plant, whose importance is increasing day by day in our country, to the climatic conditions of the Çukurova region. Pomological analyzes were carried out on the fruits of Cultivated and Wild Jujube trees at certain stages of the experiment. According to the pomological analysis results, it was determined that the fruits obtained from cultivated plants were superior in terms of quality. According to the analysis of fruits taken from cultivated plants; It weighs 31,58 (g), fruit length is 40,86 (mm), fruit width is 41,22 (mm), fruit height is 43,53 (mm), fruit flesh hardness is 48,63 (N). It is obtained from the fruits of cultivated plants, seed weight (g), flesh/seed ratio, Brix (%), pH, titratable acidity (%), values were determined to be superior to fruits obtained from wild plants, yield values per tree were on average. It was measured between 6,11-6,55 kg/tree.
