STUDY ON REMOVAL OF METALAXYL AND ACETAMYPRID IN CUCUMBERS Şeyma DURAN M.Sc. Thesis in Food Engineering Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Muharrem CERTEL January 2021; 53 Pages Agricultural products; pesticide applications are the most ordinarily utilized intensive farming practices to shield from pests and to get bountiful and quality products. Nonetheless, other than the advantages they give, pesticides additionally bring along numerous issues, for example, negative impacts on human well-being and natural contamination. The expansion in yield accomplished by pesticides has prompted their drawn out destructive impacts being disregarded for years. In this examination, Convoy XL 350ES (Active fixing: Metalaxyl) and Hekplan 20SP (Active fixing: Acetamiprid) were applied on cucumbers planted in a greenhouse in Korkuteli province of Antalya. The main gathering of pesticides were collected 4 hours after the application, the second gathering of pesticides 4 days after the fact application, and brought to the laboratory for analysis. In the two gatherings, washing (15 seconds), soaking in water (20 min), soaking in vinegar water (20 min), soaking in carbonated water (20 min), soaking in chlorine dioxide (20 min) and storage for 0., 2., 3., 7., 14. and 20 days It is aimed to determine the effect of storage on residue of these pesticides on samples. As indicated by the consequences of the exploration, it was seen that the most effective method of reducing the residue amount of Metalaxyl and Acetamiprid utilized on cucumber samples is to soak in chlorine dioxide and carbonated water for 20 minutes. It has been seen that putting away in the cooler at +4 ° C for 7 days has a decreasing effect on the residue amount. The results of the research have shown that when the waiting times specified in the prospectuses of the pesticides whose residue amount has been examined are complied with, the residue amounts are within acceptable limits, and also washing, holding in mixtures prepared with various solutions and storage at +4 ° C for certain periods have the effect of reducing the amount of residue.
