Abstract (EN)

Hypericum retusum Aucher Guttiferae family member is a bush type. 400 more than the world Hypericums, in Turkey there are only 70 different types. Some of the proven effects of plant is wound healing, wolf-down, antidepresif and antiseptic. Many different types of plant research are related to, but antioxidant effects of H. retusum type has not been previously ever work.In this work, the antioxidants activity of H. retusum aerial parts were determined on methanol, etlylacetate, petroleum ether, hegsane extracts. Total phenolic contents of extracts were quantified with the Folin & Ciocalteu reagent. Besides total flovonoid, DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picryllhydrazyl), hydroxyl radical scavenging, reducing power and iron chelation. H.retusum extracts showed antioxidants activity in the DPPH radical system.Total antioxidant activity methods as phenolic components, to resolve the activity of radicals, Metals chelate activity, has been looking into the demotion of the power. Another antioxidant activity tests of H.retusum extracts on iron chelation were found lower then EDTA. Reducing power values were higher and hydroxyl radicals in the experimental results have been remarkable.These results shows, H.retusum?s has the highest antioxidant activity. Further studies should be aimed characterize of the petroleum ether, hegsane, etlylacetate and methanol extracts.
