Abstract (EN)
Prophet Mohammad (PbuH) was loved much and considered superior to other people because of superior moral characteristics in being an example for all human beings with the mission appointed by the Creator. This is the way that has to be, and it was also ordered by the Creator. However, like it is the case in other religions, the mission of the Prophet was sometimes misjudged in Islam as well. There have always been some people who wanted to associate Him with another status, to much more superior and extraordinary superhuman status other than ordered and desired by the Creator since the early days of Islam. We see the most obvious outcomes of this situation in Hadith sources as of the early periods of Islam. In the field of "relic", which constitutes the core of our present study, we see that the outcomes of the love felt for the Prophet were misguided towards different fields. The beliefs that something that belonged to Him would save people from the Hell, heal the diseased ones, increase the faith, etc. came to forefront more than the respect and reverence felt for His memory. As a matter of fact, in terms of faith, the only existence from whom help in any field may be asked for, the One that will help, the only existence to be praised is only and solely Allah. For this reason, it is extremely important that the narrations in this field in Hadith compilations are examined and investigated in terms of Hadith techniques, and any kind of weakness -although sincerely- must be avoided with regards to faith and in psychological and sociological terms. Since the narrations in this field exist plenty in Hadith compilations, we limited the main theme in our present study. After analyzing the term "relic" in the light of the Quran and Hadiths generally, we tried to determine under which headings this field was mentioned in Hadith compilations. Then, we tried to analyze the narrations in the Hadith compilations that are considered famous mainly in the "Kütüb-i Tis'a" in terms of using the food, drink and Wudu remains of the Prophet as relics in the light of the abovementioned compilations. Key Words: Hadith, Holy Prophet, holy, residual, teberrük.
