A research on the proportion, balance and modulation relationship of the caravanserais built by I. Alaeddin Keykubat

It was aimed to examine the caravanserais built by I. Alaeddin Keykubat in terms of the proportion, balance and modulation. As well as sociological and economic structure of the Anatolian Seljuk period, its architecture has been studied too. A monarch was chosen instead of a region or city to shed light on the sociological and economic structure. In this social structure, being a founder is important so it exists in this research. Caravanserais (khans) were chosen among the structures built by I. Alaeddin Keykubat. In addition, all the structural features of the Anatolian Seljuk's caravanserai were also mentioned. All characteristics of Anatolian Seljuks caravanserais were examined with the topics such as plans views, aspect features, structural members, r such as plans v materials and decorations. Place of proportion, balance and modulation in different cultures and its interaction with the Anatolian Seljuks have been investigated. Presence of proportion, balance and modulation in Anotolian Selcuks was examined. Cezmi Tuncer's analysis and measurements of Sivas Gök Medrese were determined as the basic observation method. The khans that were built by I. Alaeddin Keykubat is Aksaray Sultan Han, Tuzhisarı Sultan Han, Alara Han and Tol Han. All structural properties of these caravanserais were examined and their plans, aspects and proportions have been examined in terms of the proportion, baiance and modulation. An observation has been formed using digital materials through the photographs that were obtained in the literature and Orhan Cezmi Tuncer's anaiysis method.
