The first government of Şükrü Saraçoğlu and its actions (9 july 1942-9 march 1943)

After the start of the World War II, all governments in the world, willingly orun willingly, found themselves in volved in this chaossituation. This war whosereason of arise was the superpowers' need of sharing the world among themselves, also negatively affected Turkey. Although at the beginning Turkey took a stand of not to be involved in it, its strategical geographic locationled tointense diplomatic involvement. It was in this time, known as "Tough Years", on 9th July 1942 when Sukru Saracoglu took over the leardershipand was given the duty of establishing the government. In this thesis, topic sthatared isussed include; Sukru Saracoglu's long political life, the 13th Republic of Turkey's government that he established after taking over the leardership in 1942, the government's establishment process, the biography of ministers whowere in his executive committee, the policies that were followed in home and foreign affairs and theevents that happened.
