Abstract (EN)
Like other Islamic philosophers who aimed to achieve ultimate happiness in their final effort, Ibn Bacce and Ibn Tufeyl as well, contemplated the ways which leads to their aims, deepen their research in this subject, moved a step further from the system of thought on their period by benefiting from the accumulation of philosophical thoughts up to that time and had left us the legacy of philosophical thought aided by their new ideas.In our thesis which we aimed to explain the happiness on one?s own and his or her happiness in society what we can also call self-actualization, we formed an introduction part by placing a happiness definition and thoughts of some philosophers over happiness.In the first part, what Ibn Bacce, who expresses a person cannot self-actualize and be happy without thinking and contriving, understands from happiness, society, human and self (essential nature) are placed systematically. And in the second part, Ibn Tufeyl?s, the other philosopher who we studied his thoughts, understanding of happiness is placed. There are some hints in what way and how to achieve happiness in the plot of the story in which plenty of symbols were spread.At the conclusion by comparing the two philosophers? views on happiness, attention is drawn to that they proposed that a person?s achievement of ultimate happiness, who is one with the God and who knows God?s existence through the way of which Ibn Bacce?s wisdom way and pleasure way which Ibn Tufeyl called a step further from wisdom.Key Words:1.Happiness2.Self-actualization
