Investigation and verification of the opinions applied to İmâm Mâlik in İbn Hazm's title Al-Muhallâ (sample of worship)

Abstract (EN)

Ibn Hazm, who is accepted as the second imâm of the Zahiri sect, included the opinions of other sect imâms as well as his own opinions in al-Muhallâ, which is the subject of the study. Although there were parts where he agreed with the opinions of others, he had sometimes harshly criticized their opinions. In addition to parts where he agreed with others, he harshly criticized them in some parts. One of the scholar to whom Ibn Hazm gave his opinions in this work is Imam Mâlik. In this study, the opinions that Ibn Hazm attributed to Imam Mâlik on the subjects of worship were determined and analyzed. The study consists of introduction, two parts and conclusion. In the introduction part, the limitations, purpose and importance of the research as well as prior studies on the subject are explained. In the first chapter, the life and works of Ibn Hazm and Imam Mâlik, and especially al-Muhallâ, which is the main source of the thesis, are mentioned. In the second part, which constitutes the main structure of the study, the opinions attributed to Imam Mâlik in the subject of worship in al-Muhallâ were determined and the study of Imam Mâlik's al-Muvatta and the famous works of the Mâliki sect were examined. In the thesis, 253 opinions of Imam Mâlik were identified and examined. 236 of these opinions were accurate, 9 of them were errors, and 8 of them were partially accurate. In the conclusion part of the study, there are evaluations based on the results of the research.
