Abstract (EN)
Recognition and spread of Ash'arism in Maghrib corresponds to the hijri IV-VI century. Many scholars were raised during these centuries, and their works have reached today. In the recent researches, the works of the scholars who grew up in the Maghrib have been reached during the century we have mentioned and their works have been brought to the science of kalam with the verifications and examinations made. One of these names is Ibn Humayr es-Sebti. In this study, the views of Ibn Humayr es-Sebtî, one of the leading representatives of Maghrib Ash'arism, his views on the subject of sam'iyyat mentioned in the usûl-i selâse (three methods) of kalam and the distinctive elements of his approach to this issue were examined. The framework of the study is the difference, similarity, and contribution to the Maghrib Ash'ari tradition from the Ash'ari approach, of which Ibn Humayr is a member on subject of sam'iyyât. At this point, the descriptive method was used in the study taking into account the qualitative data; Ibn Humayr's views on sam'iyyat in the Ash'ari tradition are discussed comparatively. Thus, his position in the Ash'ari tradition has been tried to be determined in terms of his methods and the way he approaches subjects. As a result of the study, it has seen that he differs from Ash'ari scholars in terms of handling, method and style in sam'iyyat issues. Because Ibn Humayr, who frequently emphasizes functional reason, the evil eye and deduction method of dakîku'l kelam, maintained the same point of view while dealing with the issues of sam'iyyat. He fixed the leg of the compass in the conveyed evidence and used the mind, which he conceived as the movable leg of the compass, as a supportive and explanatory tool for the subject. Thus, he dealt with the issues of sam'iyyat by combining the punctuality with dâkîku'l-kelam and celîlu'll-kelam issues of kalam. For this reason, he stipulated learning the subjects of dâkîku'l-kelam first. He stated that unless it is approached in this way, the subjects ofsam'iyyat cannot be learned properly.
