Ibn al-Hacib's work named al-Shafiya

Ibn al-Hajib has written many works in different fields in his life of more than seventy years. He has worked on the sciences of al-fiqh, usul al-fiqh, and aruz, especially on sarf and nahw. Among his works, the ones he wrote as short-volume summaries have been more popular and paved the way for many works such as commentary (sharh), footnote (hashiat alsuwra) and investigation (tahqiq) by scholars who came after him. Ibn al-Hajib's ash-Shafia is a short-volume summary of the sarf that covers almost all the subjects written in the sarf. When examined in terms of the sarf subjects it covers, it can be divided into three sections. These sections are word structures, structural states, and exercises. In this study, the content of the work is emphasized; the concepts used, the content of the subjects, the methods of inference, the types of illet, the structure of the examples used, and the points of disagreement are emphasized. The study aims to examine the work of ash-Shafiya, which has been taught as a textbook in the Ottoman Empire and various Islamic countries since it was written, and to present it to the benefit of Arabic language researchers by introducing it.
