İn this thesis, hydrodynamical and thermal analysis under the effect of magnetic field are presented for some common basic geometries. Uniform heat flux is assumed to apply at walls. Flow and heat transfer of electrically conducting fluid are analyzed under the effect of a magnetic field applied perpendicular to the flow direction. In the analysis, viscous dissipation and Joule heating effecs are taken into account. Due to the fluid motion and electromagnetic field interaction in the flow region, flow and heat transfer of MHD flow is a complex process to analyze. At first, both hydrodynamically and thermally fully developed case is analyzed analytically. Then, consideration is given to thermally developing case, which is examined numerically. Results are obtained for the Nusselt number as well as velocity and temperature profiles for various working parameters. Results are also compared with literature for limit cases. The complex change of Nusselt number for various values of Brinkman and Hartmann number are presented. The complex heat transfer characteristics in the presence of viscous dissipation and Joule heating are discussed physically.
