Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of Internal Locus of Control Programme on the adolescents and to determine whether their learned resourcefulness behaviors and usage of defense mechanisms are affected by implemented programme or not.Study was done in 2010-2011 educational and instrictuonal year with 10th class students of a high school in İzmir-Buca. An experimental model with pre-test, post-test control group was used in this study. Also follow up procedure was implemented. Rosenbaum?s Learned Resourcefulness Schedule, Locus of Control Scale and Defense Mechanisms Inventory Adolescent Form were used as data collection tools. The data were analyzed by using t-test, ANCOVA, repeated measures of variance analize and LSD test. According to the findings, there is significant difference between pre-test and post-test locus of control scores of experimental group (p<.05). No significant difference was found between learned resourcefulness scores. Concerning the usage of defense mechanisms, a significant decrease was determined between turning against the object sub-scale scores. In projection, turning against the self, reversal of affect and principalization sub-scales, there is no significant difference. The differences between post-test and follow up test about locus of control, learned resourcefulness and turning against the object scores are not significant. Although there is no significant difference between pre-test and post test scores about reversal of affect sub-scale, the difference among pre-test, post-test and follow up test is significant.
