Investigation of microbiologycal pollution potential of drinking-water

Abstract (EN)

In this study, according to Waters For Human Consumption Regualation (The EU drinking water directive 98/83/EC) in Adana City, 514 village, 142 city centre and town focused points have been determined to show the homogenous characteristics of these locations. From these points, at certain dates, 899 bacteriologic water samples from villages and 2058 bacteriologic water samples from city centre and towns have been taken. This study has been conducted to point out the level of bacteriologic pollution in and around the city. As a result, 407 of water provider systems, which are already located in the bacteriologically polluted locations, have been found to be bacteriologically polluted as well. Bacteria types such as indicator microorganizms and fekal coliform have been found by the use of ?Membran Fitler Technique?. The analysis found as a result of these studies was taken into consideration in 25730 issued official newspaper on 17.02.2005 on the ground of Waters For Human Consumption Rules.
