Özet (EN)

The Index of Complexity, Outcome and Need (ICON) used in recent years is one of the most used indexes for evaluating the outcomes of orthodontic treatments because it is possible to learn quickly and easily, as well as to make objective assessments. Index allows easier orthodontic assessment of a patient in general dental practice because it allows the measurement of treatment need, outcome, complexity and also the degree of recovery in dental anomalies. In the literature screening, it's found that, in the studies conducted abroad the method is somewhat a quality control tool for assessment of the treatment outcome, need for treatment, duration and cost of the treatments and their relations to each other. In studies conducted in our country, the treatment success and treatment need were evaluated using ICON index, but there is no research related to the icon index and it's relationship with the duration of treatment. In this thesis study we will use ICON index to inform the dentists about the average number of treatment months of the patients whose treatment needs are confirmed, and provide cost, efficiency and time relations and contribute to the subject. In this study, where the need for treatment is determined by ICON index, the initial and final ICON index score measurements of approximately 90 patients treated between 2011 and 2016 at the Çukurova University Department of Orthodontics of the Faculty of Dentistry are done. The values of treatment duration were statistically evaluated and variations have been observed.
