The effects of export-oriented growth model on the manufacturing industry(after 1980)

In this article, the effect of the change which occurs in the process of exports-oriented industrialization in Turkey on progress which provides by manufacturing industry after 1980 was analyzed.Before analysis of manufacturing industry, industrialization strategies that are applied by Turkish governments and the approaches about foreign trade were evaluated. After evaluation, an economic analysis about the basic structure of manufacturing industry and its foreign trade has taken place in our paper.From these analyses, it has understood that; manufacturing industry is one of the biggest industrial sectors in Turkey in the subject of employment, production and foreign trade. Especially, the share of manufacturing industry in sum of export of the country is the most important factor that separates it from other industrial sectors. Consequently, manufacturing industry is need to be supported and in this direction industrialization policies concerning export-oriented growth that has been proved a positive relation between them, are need to be continued to apply. Otherwise, the loss of manufacturing industry about power of competition in foreign market will do away with economic effectiveness of this industry sector on a large scale.In this connection; in analysis where is at the end of our research paper, the degree of relations between the density of export and the exportation of manufacturing industry was determined and according to the results that are handled, the importance of exports-oriented industrialization from the way of the exportation of manufacturing industry was tried to emphasize.
