Music articles in İkdam Newspaper (Transcription and review)

The newspaper Ikdam published a great number of issues in the late period of Ottomans. The articles in the newspaper are about almost all kind of science including music. People who are interested in music had pursued this articles with attention. The articles about music had been pressed in various times and they were written with Ottoman alphabeth. In this study, we aimed to take the articles about music in Ikdam journal, transcribe the Ottoman characters to Latin alphabeth and write a review about them excluded the articles in the journal that has written by Rauf Yektâ. In this study, we take the articles from the library of TBMM by photografy. After, we transcribed the Ottoman letters to current Turkish letters. After prolog, in the second chapter we gave information about Ikdam journal and its authors, and in the third chapter we submitted the text of the articles that we transcribed and in the last chapter, we presented some evaluations and researches about the articles. The articles about music which has been published in Ikdam is crucial for the scientific area for musicology. Especially the articles which has written by Nuri Seyda is one of the main sources of music in history and is a resource for the following scholars.
