Abstract (EN)

Turkey did not enter the second world war one of the most important military and political developments of the 20.th century until the last moment. But Turkey affected exceedingly negativities created by the war. During war years İzmir dependent on products from inner region had difficulties access to basic foodstuffs. Among those foods wheat and bread were the needed most. Additionaly finding sugar, meat, tea, coffee difficulties experienced. besides, in the shadow of war, general measures taken by the goverment both imports and exports led to economic losses and other questions because of tecnical problems. This work examined issues experienced during the second world war in İzmir one of the most important commercial cit of the Turkey during 1940's.
