Abstract (EN)

In today?s global world; improvements of technology, intensely use of internet and means of transport devices influence all areas as well the business world. There are all kinds of positive and negative developments in business world and social life. Therefore all of the companies should supply the needs and expectations of internal and external customers with being a cut above from their rivals. They should give up old applications and carry out Total Quality Management.This thesis work generally examined applications of Total Quality Management and the effects of these applications on the firm performance. 80 question survey prepared for this purpose was conducted among 116 people from pharmaceutical industry in 2009. In the first section, description and historical development of quality, founders and principles of Total Quality Management were examined. In the second part, the relation between Total Quality Management and performance was examined; pharmaceutical industry was tried to explain with a model firm. In the last part, analysis and data of the conducted survey, the effects of Total Quality Management on company performance were stated.Key Words: Total Quality Management, The principles of Total Quality Management, Performance, Pharmaceutical Industry.
