Evaluate the factors that affects advanced endometrial cancer and importance of histopathological type and siri ratio

Data of 219 patients, who were operated between 2014-2020 at Gaziantep University, Sahinbey Training and Research Hospital, whose pathology results were compatible with endometrial cancer were analyzed retrospectively. Staging, age, gravida, parity, grade, BMI, LVSI, tumor diameter, myometrial invasions, cervical, adnexal/omental involvements, and lymph node metastases of the patients were evaluated. The imaging methods utilised during the preoperative period and levels of preoperative and postoperative Ca 125 and Ca 19-9 were evaluated by scanning the archive. The patients were divided into endometrioid and non-endometrioid endometrial cancer types and early stage and advanced stage. The factors affecting the histopathological type and advanced staging were examined. Descriptive statistics were used for numerical and categorical variables. Student's t-test was used for univariable numerical normally distributed variables. Mann-Whitney U test was used for non-normally distributed numerical variables. Data were evaluated using the chi-square test for categorical variables. Patients with non-endometrioid endometrium cancer were older (p=0.02) and had more advanced stage (p=0.03) compared to those with endometrioid type. In terms of postmenopausal period, patients with non-endometrioid endometrium cancer had a higher number and rate (p=0.01) and BMI was significantly lower in these patients (p<0.0001). There were statistically significant differences in terms of stage, histological type, BMI, preoperative and postoperative grade, abdominal cytology, tumor size, LVSI, preoperative Ca 125 values ​​and SIRI ratio. Particularly histological type and SIRI may be an important determining factor in advanced endometrial cancer. There is a need for prospective studies with a greater number of patients to conclude.
