Abstract (EN)
Diabetus mellitus during pregnancy is a metabolic disease which is extremely important for both mother and offspring and has increasingly high incidence. New researches required for treatment and development of this disease. This study was conducted to determine effects of diabetus mellitus formed with different types and doses of chemical agents on health of the offsprings. For this purpose, 35 rats with advanced pregnancy were used. Rats were divided into five groups randomly and animals in first group were selected to be control group. Alloxan administired intraperitonally with doses of 40 mg/kg for group 2, and of 60 mg/kg for group 3 Streptozotocin injected to rats of group 4 with doses of 40 mg/kg and to animals of group 5 with 60 mg/kg intraperitonally. After birth, number of born offspring, survival rate, lactation period, and congenital anomalies were recorded and statistical comparisons between groups were performed. At the end of study, blood of one female offspring born to mothers with diabetes were taken and levels of glucose, total protein, albumin, triglycerides, cholesterol, calcium (Ca), phosporus (P) in blood serum was measured and compared between groups. Due to applications, one animal per second and third group were aborted. In group 4 which administered with 40 mg/kg Streptozotocin, blindness in a male offsprings were determined. No anomalies were detected in other groups. Diabetic agents administered with various doses were found to prolong the gestation period. Death rates was found to be maximum in the group treated with Alloxan. Death of offsprings in Streptozotocin-treated group was found to higher compared to control group, but less than Alloxan-treated animals. No difference were determined for values of glucose, total protein, albumin, triglycerides, cholesterol, Ca and P in blood serum of offsprings.
