Abstract (EN)

Arabic, which is defined as Semitic languages and belongs to this language family, is in the group of twisted languages in terms of its word structure. The Arabic language, which is generally obtained by the method of derivation, has a flexible feature in terms of its structure and has the opportunity to derive many words from a root word. In this study, we tried to deal with the terms that are the concrete manifestation of communication, together with the term derivation potential of Arabic, in the context of how communication terms are formed. While drawing the conceptual and theoretical framework, the subject studied is tried to be embodied with examples obtained from classical works and modern period Arabic term studies. The study consists of an introduction and four parts. In the introduction, the subject, purpose, importance, method of the research and some of the Turkish and Arabic sources used are stated. In addition, the direct or indirect studies identified on the subject are given in chronological order, the need to study the subject and the gap it fills in the literature are mentioned. In the first chapter, after giving general information about the definition, features and terminology of the term, term studies in the Arab world, personal and institutional activities from the classical period to the present are mentioned. In the second part, the derivation methods that develop the Arabic language are explained. After these methods, which we have discussed under three main headings as literal, spiritual and loanword, the Arabic patterns that are widely used in deriving terms are emphasized. In the third chapter, after defining the definition of communication and types of communication, the historical development of post in the Arab geography as an example of written communication and some of the postal terms selected as examples are evaluated in the context of derivation. Then, after giving information about visual and auditory communication, some telecommunication terms that we selected as samples were evaluated in the context of derivation. Finally, after giving general information about today's media and social media platforms, some media terms that we chose as a sample were evaluated in the context of derivation and the study is concluded with the conclusion part. Keywords: Arabic, Term, Derivation, Communication, Communication Terminology.
