Abstract (EN)
This study examines the history of communication technologies in detail, and the effort to understand the emergence conditions of these technologies and their characteristics that seem unique but are actually a continuation of a long process. The developments in communication technologies have been examined within the framework of the "Schumpeterian Creative Destruction". Creative destruction, which is an economic development theory in fact, briefly refers the process of replacing of old technologies with new ones and turning the attention of the existing resources from the olds to the new ones. In an other saying by Schumpeter, creative destruction is the process of industrial mutation that incessantly revolutionizes the economic structure from within, incessantly destroying the old one, incessantly creating a new one. While processing this, it uses the basic elements of creative destruction such as dynamic analysis, circular flow, invention and entrepreneur. Communication history, which is as old as human history, has been handled in a limited historical perspective starting from extrasomatic communication technologies. The mentioned historical study was started with the invention of the clay tablet. The most important reason for this is that complex social structures managed by organized collaborative groups and their complex communication needs appeared in this period. While analyzing communication technologies, these technologies are detailed under eight headings. These are the eight guidelines Marshall Poe uses to study media features; accessibility, privacy, fidelity, volume, velocity, range, persistence and searchability. Each communication technology analyzed under eight headings is re-combined in the perspective of creative destruction at the end of the section. In the last part of the study, since Republic of Turkey's establishment its adaptation to new communication technologies and the reaction process are examined.
