A review on Ilgaz magazine

The aim of this study is to make a review on Ilgaz magazine, which was published between 1960-1980. With this examination, the literary and artistic views and political tendencies of the journal will be determined. Ilgaz entered the publishing life as the "Monthly Journal of Intellectual Arts and Education". There have been changes of opinion and publication over the years. Sub-titles such as "Monthly Intellectual Art Magazine", "Monthly Think, Write Magazine" have been added next to the name of the magazine. This magazine, which Murat Sinan and İsmail Karaahmetoğlu started to publish in the Ilgaz region, was first published in Ilgaz in the later periods in Ankara. Karahmedoğlu, who struggled with many difficulties in bringing the magazine to the readers, is an important name for provincial magazine publishing. This journal, in which the poets and writers of the period, TDK members, many teachers and students produced literary products, tries to stay away from the political conflicts of the 1960-1980s as much as possible, but, like every intellectual activity, it carries traces of its own age. This journal, which includes more than ten literary genres such as memoirs, criticisms, fairy tales, anecdotes, is valuable in that it is a lively literary environment. In this thesis, evaluations have been made that will enable us to understand the political stance of the journal, its literary attitude, the fight/case of art and literature, Ilgaz and in this context the political literary atmosphere of the period. In addition, a systematic index of the texts published in the journal has been prepared and added to the end of the thesis in order to guide future studies.
