Abstract (EN)

Marital instability refers to the spouses' feelings and thoughts about their relationship, their actions towards divorce, and the spouses' tendency to end the relationship. With the increase in unstable marriages, the concept of family weakens. A strong family represents a strong, productive generation that will move society forward, and therefore a strong society. Therefore, it is important to understand the variables that affect marital instability. The purpose of this study is to reveal the relationship between variables by examining the mediating role of psychological resilience and experiential avoidance in the relationship between individuals' evaluation of their romantic relationships (relationship satisfaction) and marital instability. The study group of the research consists of 724 married individuals over the age of eighteen. Personal Information Form, Brief Psychological Resilience Scale, Relationship Evaluation Scale, Marital Instability Index and Acceptance and Action Form-II were used in the research. In this research, which aims to examine the relationship between variables, the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research designs, was used. SPSS program was used for descriptive analysis of the variables obtained from the sample, and Mplus 7 program was used to test the structural mediator model in the research. According to the results of the analysis, a significant relationship was found between marital instability and relationship satisfaction. While the relationship between marital instability and relationship satisfaction is mediated by psychological resilience; It was observed that experiential avoidance did not have any mediating effect on this relationship. Research findings show that psychological resilience levels are effective on marital instability and marital satisfaction. In this context, when working with couples, it should be aimed to focus on the psychological resilience of individuals and to increase the psychological resilience levels of couples. It is also recommended that more studies be conducted using these variables and investigating the role of experiential avoidance in marriage.
