The study on understanding level of 5th grade students in the unit of ? i?m learning my rights? in the social sciences course

In this research, it is tried to be determined what the understanding level of the terms in the unit of ?I?m learning my rights? located in the 5th grade social sciences program, which has been carried out within the Social Sciences program since 2006-2007 academic year, is. The research is formed of four units, introduction, method, findings and interpretation, result and suggestion.The research is a descriptive study in the scanning model. The subject group was selected through a random method, 120 students from 5th grade of the primary schools in Ankara Çubuk.30 items ?Conceptual Success Test? and a ?Meeting Form? which were developed by the researcher were used in the research. In the analysis of the Conceptual Success Test, Independent Examples T tests, and a one directional variance analysis are used. The data received at the end of the meeting were categorized according to correct learning limited learning, false learning and not answering, in this way the frequency (f) and percentage (%) measurements are determined. The data that was achieved from the results of the research may be summarized as follows:According to the Conceptual Success Test, the understanding levels of the terms such as ?society, role, responsibility, emotion and chronology of the students are over % 70 which is the minor limit of the mastery learning. The understanding levels of the terms such as ?right, thought, behavior, tolerance and group is under %70. according to the results of the meeting %22.5 of the students answered in the category of correct learning, %35 of them answered by limited learning, %15 answered by false learning and %27.5 of them were unable to answer the questions about responsibility, tolerance, chronology and society.Key words: Social Sciences, Term, Term Teaching
