Abstract (EN)
This study aimed at investigating how the effects of the 7th grade social sciences classes reflects to the economic and social life; determining the kind of studies have been done in this area and teacher?s opinions about the subject. In this research it is also aimed to determine the observations of the teachers concerning the learning deficiencies they observed during their instructions with their students and how they plan to work through this in order to cover up these deficiencies. The sample of the research consists of a Toplam number of 100 social sciences teachers. Data were collected by interviews with teachers and (anonymous) questionnaires. The findings of the research can be summarised as follows:Thirty percent of teachers do not have a background in Social Science Education, therefore data show that the new program is not being implemented effectively. The remaining seventy percent of teachers believe that the new programs are adequately implemented through usage of tools such as the internet and sharing of experiences.Data conclude that the majority of teachers believe that the social science lesson?s reflections on social and economic life has an increasingly positive impact on students? progress, their achievements and behaviours.According to the survey results, the teachers indicate that the social science education should resemble daily life as much as possible and contribute to it. They mention that in the present curriculum many student tasks have this objection and the policy makers are trying to improve such interventions by new research.Key Words: Social Science, Socialization, Application.
