The evaluation of effects of project-based instruction was applied in promary school 8th grade cummunication technologies course on success on the basis of students and teachers' views

The main purpose of this research is the evaluation of effects of project-based instruction applied in primary school 8th grade communication technologies course on success on the basis of students and teachers? views.The research was carried out in three primary schools in Seyhan district of Adana in 2009-2010 spring semester. The Study group includes 8th grade students from Seyhan İkinci İnönü Primary School, Seyhan Dede Korkut Primary School ve Seyhan Cumhuriyet Primary School. The study group includes 25 students from each school the total of which is 75 and 12 communications technologies course teachers.The students and teachers were given surveys during the research. The data gathered were tested by correlation mann whitney and descriptive statistical data and the survey?s being meaningful was tested in the level of .000This study indicates that project-based instruction was partially applied in communications technologies course and that project and performance assignments were given to students. At the end of the study, it was proven the knowledge that have learnt with the project and performance assignments given to the students are more permanent.Key words : project-based instruction, academic success, permanence, project and performance assignment
