Abstract (EN)

In this study, the degree of learning of Mathematics and Turkish teachingcurriculums? aims for students and the relationship of students? achievement levelsand their attitudes towards these class were investigated.Descriptive research approach is used in this study.The population of in this study consists of 3250 students, from 4 govermentsecondary schools in Karşıyaka, zmir. The sampling consists of 300 subjects of 8thclasroom secondary school students.The results of factor analysis confirmed that the attitude scales (both Turkish andmathematics) have one dimension. The alpha reliability coefficients of Turkish andMathematics attitude scales were .96 and .97 sequencly.It has been found the higher level of achievement for the Turkish class; while lowlevel of achievement has been found for the Mathematics class. Also, studentsoverall attitude toward Turkish class has been found positive while Mathematics hasbeen found negative.Family expectations about their children?s achievement were high the familyincome level high and education level of family was high.Key Words:* Achievement* Attitude* Attitudes towards the Turkish class* Attitudes towards the Mathematics class.
